O'Donnell named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Following a 2-0 week for Penn State senior Katie O’Donnell has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office earlier Tuesday afternoon.

O’Donnell led the way with eight goals and a pair of assists for a 10 point week helping the Nittany Lions to a 19-8 victory over Duquesne with a pair of goals and one assist and securing a career-high six goals and seven points during a 16-11 victory over Cornell.

The senior is currently riding a 26-game goal streak and has scored multiple goals in all four games this season ranking first on the team with 14. O’Donnell’s 14 goals are also good for tied 11th in the nation and rank third in the Big Ten just a single goal behind the 15 of both Michigan’s Adriana Pendino and Northwestern’s Selena Lasota who have each played in one more game than the senior.

O’Donnell has also moved her way up the all-time goals list at Penn State where she currently ranks tied with Madison Cyr for fourth with 156 goals in her 67 games played.
