Heisting receives CHA Rookie of the Week honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – Following a two-goal outing at Mercyhurst on Feb. 10, Penn State women’s hockey freshman forward Natalie Heising has been named the College Hockey America (CHA) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. This is the second CHA Rookie of the Week award for Heising.

Monday’s honor marks the fifth CHA award for Heising, as she has been named Rookie of the Month twice (Nov. 1 and Jan. 3), Rookie of the Week twice (Nov. 27 and Feb. 12), and Player of the Week (Dec. 4).

This past weekend, Heising recorded her second career two-goal outing in a 3-3 tie at Mercyhurst. Heising scored her second goal of the day with 15.4 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Both of her goals on Saturday were scored on the power play.
