January 25, 2018

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State men’s basketball team and the Penn State Dance Marathon have partnered for the annual THON game at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. Students from all campuses are invited to attend this special game against Rutgers at the Bryce Jordan Center, with the entire $5 amount from each student ticket sold going directly to THON.

The Bryce Jordan Center concourse will be filled with THON activities and information, games, prizes, balloon artists, magicians and face-painting artists. All THON families will be invited to a postgame festival with the Penn State basketball team, members of the Penn State Student-Athlete Advisory Board, the Penn State dance and cheer teams, and the Nittany Lion in the BJC practice facility.

Exclusive, Nittany Lion basketball “Dance With Us” T-shirts — available on the seats in the Legion of Blue student section — will be given to the first 3,000 Penn State students.

All Penn State students also eat free during pregame, while supplies last, with a nacho bar on the floor level with seating and other concessions available for purchase nearby.

The Penn State Blue Band will perform at halftime to add to the game-day atmosphere. All students in attendance are eligible to win one of 15 televisions that will be given away during the game.

Doors for the annual THON game will open to the public 90 minutes beforehand at 2:30 p.m. Enhanced security measures are in effect with metal detector screening added at entry points in addition to enforcement of Intercollegiate Athletics' bag policy.
