Professional Attire Closet open for Spring Career Days

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Students in need of professional clothing are welcome to visit the Professional Attire Closet on the second floor of the Bank of America Career Services Center on the University Park campus of Penn State.

The closet will open at 8 a.m. Jan. 22 and will close on at 5 p.m. Jan. 26. The closet will only be accessible to students while the Bank of America Career Services Center is open, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“The right outfit can give students the confidence they need for the upcoming career fairs and on-campus interviews,” said Vickie Clauer, program assistant at Penn State Career Services. “The Professional Attire Closet is a free and easy event for students to keep gently used and professionally cleaned suits.”

This is a great opportunity for students to begin to prepare for Spring Career Days on Feb. 5 and 6 at the Bryce Jordan Center. Students may also get ready for the career fair by attending the Spring Career Days Workshops beginning on Jan. 30. For more information, visit careerfairs.psu.edu/spring/student/.

Dressing rooms will be available at the Professional Attire Closet. Students are encouraged to only take one outfit so as many students as possible can have access to the clothing.

The Professional Attire Closet would not be possible without the generosity of everyone who donated clothing. Thank you to Balfurd Dry Cleaners for professionally cleaning these items for free and Macy’s for the use of their equipment.

For students looking to identify and achieve their career goals, career counselors and Career Services programs are helpful resources. Drop-in counseling is held weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Career Services is a unit of Penn State Student Affairs.
