READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks Benefiting THON, a student organization, is inviting the community to take the “Polar Plunge” to raise funds for THON, the world's largest student-run philanthropy dedicated to supporting children with pediatric cancer and their families, at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at the beach at Blue Marsh Lake. Attendees may register in advance before Jan. 14 for $20, or after Jan. 14 for $25. Those who register before Jan. 14 will receive a t-shirt.

THON — the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon — is a year-long effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. THON's fundraising helps offset the cost of a child's cancer treatment and helps establish research endowments aimed at increasing the cure rates of pediatric cancer treatments.
