Campus to hold luncheon, day of service honoring King

HAZLETON, Pa. — Penn State Hazleton has planned events to honor the life and service of Martin Luther King Jr.

A commemorative luncheon will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 11, in the Slusser/Bayzick Building. The featured speaker will be Mark Weir, founder of LEADS (Leadership: Exploring and Developing Success). Weir is a dynamic and powerful motivational speaker with a background as a diversity specialist. He is known for creating interactive programs that engage his audience and invite them to be active participants.

Weir has more than 20 years of combined academic, business and athletic experience. He has worked in the areas of leadership, diversity, equity and inclusion for over 15 years. He has developed his messages to help increase diversity awareness, increase skills in cultural competency and promote equity and inclusion for all.

Penn State Hazleton will also hold a Day of Service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 15. Additional details will be announced soon.
