Wrobleski named senior director for Infrastructure

Starting in February, Bill Wrobleski will join Penn State Information Technology (IT) as senior director for infrastructure. In his new role, Wrobleski will work to develop a clear plan for the future of the University’s IT infrastructure.

Before joining the team of IT leaders on Feb. 5, Wrobleski served as the director of IT for the University of Hawaii System. As director, he oversaw all aspects of the institution's system-wide technical infrastructure, services and operations. Wrobleski’s prior roles as the executive director of infrastructure operations and director of infrastructure projects at the University of Michigan brings valuable experience and ideas to Penn State IT.

“I am very happy to have Bill join the senior leadership team,” said Michael Kubit, vice president for information technology and chief information officer. “His experience in developing technology infrastructure for all parts of campus life is invaluable for future University growth. Bill’s leadership will be critical in guiding Penn State through foundational changes in the University’s technology infrastructure as well as the development of future strategy. I’m excited to add an experienced and highly collaborative leader”.

Wrobleski has served as a member of the EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR) Core Data Service Information Systems and Applications Working Group along with a co-facilitator of the ECAR Cloud Computing Constituent Group.
