Nominations for Shirley Hendrick Award due by Dec. 8

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Nominations are being accepted for the 2018 Shirley Hendrick Award, which recognizes a University administrator whose efforts have made an impact on the accessibility of programs and services for adult learners.

The Penn State Commission for Adult Learners sponsors the Hendrick Award. Nominations for the award must be submitted by Dec. 8.

The award recipient will be honored at the Hendrick Best Practices for Adult Learners Conference on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Nittany Lion Inn at the University Park campus.

The criteria for nominations are:

  •  Champions strategic initiatives to integrate best practices for adult learners into the overall landscape of the University.
  •  Encourages innovative activities to foster and inspire a culture of collaboration while improving access to adult learner programs and services.
  •  Exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurial and visionary leadership in creating new opportunities for adult learners to access Penn State programs.
