Gray elected to Internet2 board of trustees

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — David Gray, senior vice president for Finance and Business, has been elected to serve on the board of trustees for Internet2.

“It’s a high distinction to serve as a board member in this organization, of which Penn State is a founding member,” Gray said. “When you look at our modern digital society today, the members of Internet2 have had a hand in those innovations that make our digital lives possible, as well as the breakthroughs to come.”

Gray’s three-year term on the board begins on Nov. 1.

Established in 1996, Internet2 provides a collaborative environment where U.S. research and education organizations can solve common technology challenges and develop innovative solutions in support of their educational, research and service missions.

Internet2 includes 317 U.S. institutions of higher education, 81 corporations, 64 affiliate and federal affiliates, 43 regional and state education networks, and more than 65 national research and education networking partners representing more than 100 countries.

The Internet2 board of trustees is elected by representatives from member organizations, and includes university presidents, chief information officers, network researchers, discipline researchers and industry partners.
