MEDIA, Pa. – The regular season has nearly wrapped up for Penn State Brandywine fall teams and those squads are now preparing for the postseason as it begins later this week.

The Brandywine cross country teams rounded out the regular season on Thursday at the Immaculata University Invitational. The men’s team placed fourth in the eight-team field, comprised of seven NCAA Division III squads, while the women were led by freshman A’Nasia Love.

The teams will run for the PSUAC Championships on Saturday at Penn State Mont Alto. Earlier this fall when the Brandywine men competed at the Norlo Park course against PSUAC competition, the Lions claimed third place. The team has earned three-straight second-place showings at the PSUAC Championship and is still in search of its first-ever PSUAC title.

Women’s soccer closed out its conference slate with an exciting 3-2, double-overtime victory over Penn State Schuylkill on Monday afternoon. Despite dominating in the shot column 42-4, Brandywine found itself locked in an overtime battle with the visitors before freshman Christina Kane ended the match with her eighth goal of the year, giving Brandywine its 18th-straight conference win.

Brandywine’s regular season comes to an end on Tuesday with a non-conference road matchup with Division III Misericordia. The Lions will once again face Schuylkill in the PSUAC Championship match on Nov. 1 in State College. Brandywine claimed its first-ever crown last season following a 1-0 victory over Schuylkill.

Men’s soccer ended the regular season with a 14-3 overall record and a perfect 9-0 mark against league foes as the Lions posted a 5-0 victory over Penn State Scranton and 7-1 triumph over Williamson during the final week of the regular season.

As the No. 1 seed in the tournament, Brandywine will host a semifinal match against either No. 3 Penn State York or No. 4 Penn State New Kensington on Saturday at noon. The Lions will be looking for their fourth conference championship in the last five seasons.

Volleyball made it a Brandywine trifecta of No. 1 seeds in the PSUAC Tournaments following the Lions’ 3-1 triumph over second-place Penn State DuBois on Sunday afternoon. As the top seed, Brandywine has earned hosting rights for the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds on Friday and Saturday. The championship match will take place on Halloween night at Rec Hall in State College.

Brandywine is the No. 1 seed for the second time in three years and will look to complete an undefeated conference slate with a victory during its season finale on Tuesday against Penn State York. The Lions, who have already set a program record with 22 victories this fall, enter the week with a 16-match winning streak.
