UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students will hold a fundraising event in November to support an organization that over the last four years has worked to enforce Pennsylvania humane laws and rescued more than 900 dogs.
Students enrolled in the Penn State School of Hospitality Management's Advanced Meeting and Event Management course will be hosting “Dogsgiving Yappy Hour” benefiting One Dog at a Time (ODAAT).
The event will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at The Deli & Z Bar, located at 113 Hiester St. in State College. The event will have refreshments and raffles, which are included in a $10 registration fee.

Founded in 2013, ODAAT is a humane rescue group based in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, which is dedicated to helping dogs and other animals in central Pennsylvania. The event is a celebration of ODAAT’s work and its foster families who provide temporary homes for rescued dogs and other pets until adopted.
As part of the Advanced Meeting and Event Management course, instructed by Jackie Golas, students collaborate with a local organization to plan, promote, implement and evaluate a special event. The young professionals gain valuable hands-on event-planning experience. This semester, students selected ODAAT as the beneficiary of the event.
