UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Alumni, fans and friends have brought the roar to Iowa and Northwestern this season and sold out the first two Penn State Tailgates, including beyond original capacity at Northwestern.

Additional seats were added to the pregame event at Evanston before the Nittany Lions claimed a 31-7 victory over the Wildcats, with Penn Staters also selling out the extra space.

“As you travel to support our student-athletes, the Penn State Alumni Association Tailgate experience is an essential part of your game day,” Alumni Association CEO Paul Clifford said. “We hope to see you on the road to another Big Ten championship!”

Each event features tailgate fare and beverages, the Nittany Lion, Pep Band and Penn State cheerleaders in a convenient location near the stadium. Penn Staters are encouraged to bring their family and friends for plenty of fun, photo opportunities and blue-and-white camaraderie.

Advanced paid registration is now available for the three remaining tailgates. Space is limited, so register today:

Ohio State (Oct. 28)

Michigan State (Nov. 4)

Maryland (Nov. 25)

“There’s nothing better on a Saturday afternoon than surrounding yourself with fellow Nittany Lion fans,” said volunteer leader Brian Binkley. “By helping out at the Iowa Tailgate, it gave me a great opportunity to interact and talk with every fan attending and sharing in their excitement for the primetime gridiron matchup with the Iowa Hawkeyes. It was great seeing friends again from Iowa, Minnesota, Chicago, Los Angeles, and of course, from all over Pennsylvania.”

Binkley is a 2002 graduate from the College of Engineering and past president of the Alumni Association’s Minnesota Chapter. He made the five-hour drive from Minnesota for the game and tailgate, and volunteered at the tailgate, helping Penn Staters sign into the event and ensuring everyone had what they needed.

“Seeing and hearing the Nittany Lion, Pep Band and Penn State cheerleaders in a very up-close environment just gets my blood flowing every time," Binkley said. "The Alumni Association Tailgate was the perfect lead-up for what became one of my all-time favorite Penn State football memories!”
