Alumni Updates: Oct. 11, 2017

— Emil L. Cunningham has been named director for diversity and inclusion for Penn State's Office of Finance and Business, effective Oct. 26. Cunningham earned a master of education with a student affairs focus in 2010 and a doctorate in higher education in 2015 from the College of Education.

— Kathleen (Asklar) Terhune, a 2008 alumna, has been named the 2017-18 Hudson County Teacher of the Year in New Jersey. Terhune, who is a fourth-grade teacher at Hoboken Public Schools,  is one of 21 finalists who will be considered for the State Teacher of the Year.

— Tracy Weston, an alumna of the college's Professional Development School and current assistant professor of education at Middlebury College in Vermont, was featured in an article about her efforts to revitalize her college's teaching licensure program. Weston, who is using Penn State's PDS program as inspiration for what she would like to see at Middlebury, said her college and the local school district recently announced that they will partner to form their own professional development school.
