Men’s golf

Second place in the Penn State Behrend Invitational

Sixth place in the Gettysburg College Invitational

Freshman Jimmy Gillespie (Glen Mills, Pennsylvania/Garnet Valley) averaged 78.0 in two rounds for the Lions last week, helping his team to a second-place finish in the Penn State Behrend Invitational and sixth place in the Gettysburg College Invitational.

Mount Aloysius College 5, Penn State Altoona 2

Sophomore goalkeeper Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, Pennsylvania/Palmyra) made 12 saves in two games for the Lions last week.

Women’s soccer

Mount Aloysius College 2, Penn State Altoona 1

Senior forward Shoshana Mahoney (Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania/Lake-Lehman) scored three goals in two games for the Lady Lions last week. She leads the team with 11 goals this fall.

Sophomore Annie Ruggles (Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania/Hollidaysburg) went 2-1 in No. 4 singles and 3-0 in No. 2 doubles in three matches for Penn State Altoona last week.

Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Diller (Chambersburg, Pennsylvania/Chambersburg) was named both the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week after putting up big numbers to help her team to wins over Hollins, Penn State Behrend, and Wilkes.
