UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Student tickets are now available for photojournalist Lynsey Addario’s upcoming campus visit. The Pulitzer Prize winner will lead a presentation at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16 in Schwab Auditorium, describing her experiences as a photographer in war-torn countries.

The free tickets are available at all Center for the Performing Arts box office locations, including Eisenhower Auditorium, the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center and the Bryce Jordan Center. Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 10, tickets will be open to the general public.

A livestream of the event will also be available to Penn State community members with login credentials.

Addario’s visit marks a signature component of the Penn State Reads Program, designed to foster intellectual engagement and critical thinking among first-year students as they immerse themselves in a common text. The Class of 2021 was charged with reading Addario’s bestselling memoir, It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War.

“Addario's visit helps us to meet the goals of the program by putting her in direct contact with students and providing opportunities to discuss the many themes within the book and hear her thoughts on a wide array of issues,” said Barry Bram, the Penn State Reads committee co-chair and senior director of Student Engagement Programs.

A book signing will immediately follow Addario’s lecture. While in University Park, the photographer will visit various classes and host smaller discussions, providing additional insights into humanitarian crises that have shaped her career.
