UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State has partnered with Amazon Business to simplify Penn State Purchasing Card (Pcard) purchases for employees and allow them to take advantage of a wide selection and competitive prices on the Amazon Business marketplace.
When employees use their Pcard to order items through the Amazon Business account, they will enjoy several advantages:
- Free two-day shipping on orders over $49
- Automatic tax-exempt purchasing on items sold by Amazon.com LLC and participating third-party sellers
- Business pricing and quantity discounts on millions of items
- Access to a specialized business only customer service team
Penn State employees with a Pcard can get started with Amazon Business easily. On Oct. 3, cardholders who have made purchases with Amazon in the past 24 months will receive an email invitation to enroll in the Penn State Amazon Business account, including simple instructions for enrolling. From that point on, any Pcard purchases with Amazon will need to be made through the business account. Cardholders who do not receive an email invite and wish to enroll may send a request to pcard@psu.edu.
The central Amazon Business account must be used for University business purposes only. Employees are not permitted to use the business account for personal purchases, and unauthorized use of the University's sales tax exemption is prohibited.
Penn State employees should continue maximizing the use of University contracts found in eBuy at eBuy.psu.edu. eBuy offers exclusive pricing, direct billing, and free delivery for a variety of products, including office and janitorial supplies through Penn State General Stores, scientific and lab supplies, computer and technology supplies, and facility supplies. Employees may use the Amazon Business account when eBuy contracts or products are not available.
