UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Student Engagement Network is hosting the first Student Engagement Expo in the HUB-Robeson Center on Monday, Nov. 6.

Individual Penn State undergraduate students, or undergraduate student teams, participating in student engagement experiences are encouraged to submit proposals around the event’s theme, "Student Engagement — Find Your Why. Start Your Journey."

Proposals are sought for presentations, posters and photos that will inform or advance the practice of student engagement through research findings; innovative programs; student club activities; innovative programs or partnership models; proven community impact; effective curriculum or service-learning models; professional, travel, or volunteer experiences; or successful civic engagement practices.

Details on preferred presentation formats:

Lightning Presentation — Quick and engaging presentations, lasting no more than 5 minutes, will describe how going beyond the classroom made a difference in the Penn State student experience. If selected, students will have the chance to showcase experiences alongside peers in the Freeman Auditorium from 6 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Poster — Posters are best suited for reporting specific results of a research study or presenting translational, educational, service learning, clinical, or other student engagement program or evidence-based practice. Posters will be exhibited in Art Alley in the HUB-Robeson Center on Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A reception-style session from noon to 2 p.m. will encourage networking and discussion. At least one author is expected to be present at the poster during the session.

Photo — Selected photos featuring students on recent engagement experiences will be digitally displayed in the Engagement Space and online at #engagepennstate. Submissions should include your name, graduation year, major, the location of the experience, and a quote about your experience.
