Penn State Fayette hires new athletic coaches for the 2017-18 Season

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus has announced 11 new hires in the athletic department at the start of the 2017-18 school year.

Kenneth Johnson, head coach, and Robert Swope, assistant coach, join the men’s basketball team. Larry Haines will serve as assistant coach for women’s basketball.

The golf team welcomes Dave Gumbert as head coach and Alan Crawford as assistant coach after a strong inaugural season.

Mike Sikorski will head up the baseball team, with Matt Sabatini as assistant coach. John Miller will return to the role of head softball coach after serving unofficially last season.

Samantha Swetz and Janelle Cooper join the volleyball team as head and assistant coaches, respectively, to defend a PSUAC championship.

Additionally, Violet Kern will serve as assistant coach for both the track and field and cross country teams. The cross country team won a PSUAC championship last fall.
