UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Arriving on Penn State’s campus can be an overwhelming experience for many students. The first few weeks on campus can be especially daunting and hard to navigate for students within the LGBTQA community.

To help students find their way, the LGBTQA Student Resource Center is kicking off the academic year with its annual Welcome Reception. This informational event will have representatives from various student organizations, campus departments, and community resources who can aid LGBTQA students and their allies in navigating Penn State and the State College community.

The doors will open for the 2017 LGBTQ Welcome Reception on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 4:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center. Music, food and LGBTQA Student Resource Center giveaways will accompany the information tables.

The LGBTQ Welcome Reception is free and open to the public. To find out more information regarding which resources will be present, please visit the Welcome Reception Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1654841457859264/

The LGBTQA Student Resource Center is part of the Penn State Office of Student Affairs. For more information on the Welcome Reception or LGBTQA programming at Penn State, visit http://studentaffairs.psu.edu/lgbtqa/.
