UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Work by students in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications garnered seven nominations for 2017 College/University Production Awards, the equivalent of regional Emmy Awards, from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

Of the seven nominations, four of the pieces came from an international reporting trip to Greece in spring 2016.

Over the past four years, programs produced in the Bellisario College have earned 12 College/University Production Awards from NATAS. “Centre County Report,” a weekly show produced by students and faculty from the Bellisario College, has been chosen as the top newscast in three of the last four years.

Each year, the awards recognize outstanding student achievement in production in the Mid-Atlantic region. The award is intended to be an incentive for continued pursuit of excellence by those studying media and journalism and to bring attention to outstanding achievements by students.
