Professional Attire Closet in need of donations for students

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Career Services is collecting professional clothing donations for undergraduate students from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 10 through Aug. 4 on weekdays, in the lobby of the Bank of America Career Services Center on the University Park campus.

The Professional Attire Closet will be available to students the week before Fall Career Days. It will open at 1 p.m. on Sept. 5 and will close at noon Sept. 8. Students are encouraged to use the items for interviews, networking events and other professional opportunities.

“People are willing to give when they know there is a need,” said Vickie Clauer, program assistant at Penn State Career Services. “Donating a suit, blouse or a tie is a simple way to lighten back-to-school expenses and help students prepare for their future.”

For more information, call 814-865-2377.

The Professional Attire Closet has been available to students since 2015. Balfurd Dry Cleaners cleans these clothing items for free.

As students begin planning for the fall semester, many have questions about how to develop and pursue their career goals. Career Services, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, offers programs and counseling services to assist students.
