Penn State welcomes historic Happy Valley Jam on Saturday, July 8

Good reserved seats on sale for first Beaver Stadium concert headlined by Blake Shelton; Advance parking on sale Friday until 4:30 p.m. in BJC

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — History will be made Saturday, July 8, when Penn State and Centre County host the Happy Valley Jam inside Beaver Stadium. Eight months of specific concert planning will come to fruition as five artists take the stage, headlined by country music and “The Voice” superstar Blake Shelton.

The Happy Valley Jam is the inaugural concert held in Beaver Stadium, home of the Penn State Nittany Lion football team since 1960. In addition to Shelton, the concert also will feature Chris Young, Big & Rich, David Ray and Adley Stump, with Stump kicking off the show at 4 p.m.

“Many people have spent considerable time in planning and preparing for the Happy Valley Jam and we’re excited that it’s almost here,” said Phil Esten, Penn State deputy athletic director. “We’ve been pleased with the response; tickets have been sold in more than 40 states. This weekend’s weather forecast is fantastic and we can’t wait to bring all the fans and artists together for the first Beaver Stadium concert on Saturday evening.”

Good reserved seats, including a limited number of reserved field seats, remain for Happy Valley Jam and are available at www.happyvalleyjam.com, 1-800-NITTANY (weekdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) and in-person at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office, (weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Fans that purchased Happy Valley Jam tickets from Ticketmaster must log into their Ticketmaster account and print their tickets at home. Ticket Will Call and the Beaver Stadium ticket office near Gate E will open for sales and service at noon on Saturday. Fans can call 1-800-NITTANY for customer service starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday until one hour after the concert ends.

Advance parking sales for Happy Valley Jam will be available at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m on Friday, July 7 (more information below).

Tickets sold in 43 states for Happy Valley Jam

Tickets for Happy Valley Jam have been sold in 43 states, Canada and Sweden. The public stadium gates (Gates A&B), suites and club entrances (All-Sports Museum) will open at 3 p.m. The ADA gate on the west side of Beaver Stadium will open at 2:30 p.m.

Fans with field seats should enter at Gates A or B and proceed to the field via the South tunnel. Fans with field seats will receive a wristband for field access. 

The Beaver Stadium parking lots will open at 11 a.m. and tailgating will be permitted once the lots open.

All RV parking, including ADA patrons, will be in the overnight RV lot off Orchard Road. The overnight RV lot will open at noon on Friday, July 7, for fans who have purchased an overnight RV parking permit. An ADA shuttle will be available from the RV lot to Gate B.

All RVs must depart the overnight RV lot by noon on Sunday, July 9. Space is limited. Car parking will be adjacent to the overnight RV lot.

Advance parking sales for Happy Valley Jam are available at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a limit of five parking permits per account (more information below).

Penn State bag policy in effect for Happy Valley Jam

The Penn State bag policy will be in effect for the Happy Valley Jam. Clear bags (no larger than 11”x11”) and wristlets (no larger than 4”x6”x1”) will be permitted. For bag policy details, go to:

Shelton was selected the Country Music Association’s Male Vocalist of the Year a record-tying five consecutive times from 2010-14. He earned CMA Entertainer of the Year honors in 2012 and CMA Album of the Year in 2013, in addition to numerous other awards and nominations, including the Grammys and Academy of Country Music. Shelton has had 17 consecutive No. 1 singles, with 22 overall atop the charts, during his superlative career.

In 2011, Shelton joined NBC’s hit music competition series, “The Voice,” as a coach. Shelton has been on the popular program for the past six years.

The Happy Valley Jam will include beer sales at concession stands inside Beaver Stadium, along with wine sales available in the premium areas. Purchasing alcohol will require identification. Penn State encourages fans who choose to drink to do so responsibly. A Designated Driver program will be available inside Beaver Stadium at the Guest Services locations.

Fans planning to attend Happy Valley Jam should note that the State College Spikes are home at noon on July 8 vs. the Auburn Doubledays in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, which is across the street from Beaver Stadium.

Car

A state issued handicap placard is required in conjunction with the pass to access ADA lots. There will be an ADA shuttle from the overnight RV lot to Beaver Stadium. All RV parking will be in the overnight RV lot, including ADA patrons.
