U.S. Postal Service honors Multimedia and Print Center for mailing innovation

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Multimedia and Print Center (MPC) at Penn State was recently recognized with the U.S. Postal Service's Mailing Innovation and Digital Award for the Eastern Area.

The award recognizes MPC for working with Penn State’s Office of Admissions to automate the process that sends the offer of admission to prospective students. Abbas Badani, director of MPC, persuaded the Office of Admissions that the automated process will save money, as well as decrease the cycle time for offers to reach students.

“This is a wonderful recognition of the MPC's work and creativity in support of Penn State,” said David Gray, senior vice president for Finance and Business/treasurer.

“This award was unexpected, and it’s an honor that all of us in MPC are proud of,” Badani said.

The postmaster general of the United States and Postal Service leadership will present the award during a May 24 luncheon at the 2017 National Postal Forum in Baltimore.
