Lane restrictions on Route 322 to affect commencement traffic

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Motorists traveling to University Park via U.S. Route 322 for commencement exercises May 5-7 are advised to allow for extra travel time due to road construction in the area of Seven Mountains and Potters Mill Gap.

According to PennDOT, beginning May 5, drivers will encounter a change in the traffic pattern through the construction zone, which stretches eastbound and westbound from the Mifflin County line to Decker Valley Road in Centre County.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction in the work zone, as westbound traffic will cross over into the eastbound passing lane. Westbound lanes will be closed so that work can take place away from traffic. Eastbound traffic will continue to use the right travel lane to move through the work zone.
