DUNMORE, Pa. — Suzanne Morgan, administrative staff assistant in academic affairs, has been named Penn State Worthington Scranton's May Employee of the Month by Chancellor Marwan Wafa.

"Suzanne has to handle some of the most complicated expense processing using our many systems," wrote Financial Officer Kim Bogdan in nominating Morgan for the honor. "She not only learns these systems, but has mastered them and always strives to learn the 'why' behind a process, and because of this she is able to troubleshoot issues when they occur. Her work is always accurate and she is a very conscientious colleague."

"Suzanne is a valuable member of the academic affairs office and is an asset to the Penn State Worthington Scranton community," said Chief Academic Officer H. Durell Johnson. "She takes a very professional approach to her office responsibilities and campus service, and, as noted in her support of the Undergraduate Research Fair, she consistently makes a conscientious effort to support faculty, staff and students. The positive impact of Suzanne's campus contributions is evidence of both her creative and disciplined approach to tasks and her thoughtful and supportive interactions with colleagues."

"Suzanne is a consummate professional and valuable collaborator. She takes a straightforward approach to getting things done efficiently while assuring that all details are in order. When the job is in her hands, there is no doubt it will be handled with the utmost care and competence," said Ray Petren, assistant professor of human development and family studies.

"In work on campus committees, Suzanne is a strong contributor, and she often takes more than her share of the responsibility in completing tasks to meet common goals," Petren added. "In short, the pride and dedication that Suzanne puts into her work is a benefit to the campus community."

The Employee of the Month recognition was created by Wafa as a way of distinguishing campus staff who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving Penn State Worthington Scranton.

Congratulations, Suzanne!
