Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence to hold annual brunch

Fifth annual Alumni and Friends event slated for April 2

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence at Penn State will hold its fifth annual Alumni and Friends Brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 2 at The Nittany Lion Inn.

The keynote speaker will be Ann M. Kolanowski, professor of nursing and founder/former director of the Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence at Penn State. Dr. Kolanowski’s talk is titled “Love Crossword Puzzles! Brain Health in the 21st Century.” Registered nurses can earn one (1) continuing education contact hour for attending.

Cost of the brunch is $39 in advance and $49 at the door. Tables of eight may be reserved for $275 (a savings of almost $5 per person). Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

The Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence seeks to improve the lives of older adults in positive and person-centered ways. This is accomplished through innovative education, rigorous scientific research, community and clinical partnerships, and various efforts to translate best practice evidence into the continuum of care for older adults.
