General Motors sustainability director to visit Penn State solar home

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The MorningStar Solar Home, a 100-percent renewable-energy-powered home on Penn State’s University Park campus that produces all the energy needed for its operation, will welcome a visit from David Tulauskas, the director of sustainability for General Motors (GM) at 10:15 a.m. on March 22.

Tulauskas will be visiting a few projects sponsored by GM around campus that promote sustainability. He will speak with students involved with MorningStar and with the Penn State Advanced Vehicle Team (PSU AVT), which is currently competing in the EcoCAR 3 competition that is converting a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro into a hybrid-electric vehicle. The MorningStar home and the Camaro will be on display for attendees.

In addition, the president of the State College Borough Council, Thomas Daubert, will be in attendance to speak with students about sustainability efforts in Centre County.
