Faculty proposals sought for blended course redesign program

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State faculty are invited to submit a proposal for a faculty engagement program providing support for the redesign of a resident instruction course that will be offered in a blended face-to-face and online format.

Through the Blended Learning Transformation (BlendLT) program, Penn State Teaching and Learning with Technology staff will partner with a small cohort of faculty to provide support via a three-pronged approach: professional development, resources for course development, and assessment of the redesigned course after it has been offered.

This program emphasizing blended course delivery is aligned with Penn State’s strategic plan. In addition, the University’s adoption of the Canvas learning management system means many faculty are moving courses currently housed in ANGEL to Canvas; this transition offers faculty an opportunity to reimagine the structure and delivery of their courses by capitalizing on the affordances of the new platform.

BlendLT program details and the proposal submission form are available at http://tlt.psu.edu/engagement/blendlt/. The deadline to submit proposals is March 31.

For any questions, email blendlt@psu.edu.
