Open Mic Night set for Feb. 27 at Penn State York

Event to feature student performances along with special guest Carla Christopher

Carla Christopher, a local poet and former poet laureate of York, will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 27 as part of Open Mic Night at Penn State York. Students will share poetry, spoken word, sing, and play musical instruments as part of the evening. YORK, Pa. — Poetry, spoken word, singing, instrumental performances and more will all be part of Open Mic Night on Monday, Feb. 27, at Penn State York. The event, set for 7 to 9 p.m. in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center, is sponsored by the Penn State York Black Student Union and the Diversity Committee.

In addition to performances by students, Carla Christopher, special guest poet and the former poet laureate of York, will share her work.  

Students who wish to perform should contact Maritha Yeboah, president of the Black Student Union, at mmy5113@psu.edu. The dress code for the evening is black.
