Palmer Museum of Art announces 'Paper Views' spring 2017 one-day exhibitions

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is continuing its popular series of one-day exhibitions highlighting works on paper from the museum’s permanent collection. Open to the public, the works in the "Paper Views" series will be on display in the Drs. Albert and Lorraine Kligman Print and Drawing Study Room, located on the museum’s second floor. The public is also invited to participate in conversations about the individual exhibits scheduled for Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 31 and April 28.

Ann Shostrom, associate professor of art, curated the exhibition "Fabricating Modernism" that will be on view from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, and will lead a conversation beginning at 1 p.m.

Jean Sanders, associate professor of art, curated the exhibition "Photogravure: Process and Poetry" that will be on view from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, and will lead a conversation beginning at 1 p.m.

Heather Davis, postdoctoral fellow, Institute for the Arts and Humanities, curated the exhibition "Making an Exit" that will be on view from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 31, and will lead a conversation beginning at 1 p.m.

Anthony D’Augelli, professor, Department of Human Development and Family Studies, curated the exhibition "From Realism to Magic: Looking Queerly" that will be on view from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 28, and will lead a conversation beginning at 1 p.m.

Exhibitions on view at the Palmer Museum of Art this spring are "Eva Watson-Schütze: Pictorialist Portraits," Jan. 10 through April 30; "Morris Blackburn: Prints and Paintings in Process," Jan. 17 through April 30; and "A Kaleidoscope of Color: Studio Glass at the Palmer," Jan. 31 through April 30.

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is located on Curtin Road and admission is free. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays. The museum will have modified hours of noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, through Sunday, March 12. The museum will be closed Sunday, April 16, and Monday, May 1, through Monday, Sept. 4.
