Institute recruiting new scholars for 2017-18 training programs

Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute is recruiting new scholars for its 2017-18 training programs in translational research. Intended for students early in their graduate training, the programs are open to medical, doctoral and predoctoral students in health-related disciplines who want to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to engage in multidisciplinary, team-based approaches to transform research discoveries into clinical and community practices that improve human health.

The TL1 Training Program provides a 12-month stipend and tuition support for students who are pursuing a career in clinical and translational science. Each TL1 scholar develops a customized training program to work toward completion of a dual-title doctorate in clinical and translational sciences, graduate certificate in translational science, or master of science in public health sciences.

The Short-term Intensive Translational Experience (SITE) Program provides a summer stipend for students who want to begin to develop foundational skills in clinical and translational research design and analysis along with professional skills in communication and teamwork. Students in this 10-week experiential program will spend 10 days in active learning sessions to enhance their translational research projects.

Program admission is based on a competitive application process. For more information, visit http://ctsi.psu.edu/tl1-and-site-program-applications/
