Details set for Jan. 1 Penn State Rose Bowl pep rally in Los Angeles

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State alumni, students and fans traveling to the 103rd Rose Bowl Game should make plans to cheer on their Nittany Lions Jan. 1 at the Official Penn State Pep Rally.

Sponsored by the Alumni Association, the Penn State pep rally begins at 2:30 p.m. PT in the L.A. LIVE area of Los Angeles. The pep rally program will feature the Penn State Blue Band, cheerleaders, Lionettes, Nittany Lion, and a number of special guests.

The pep rally is free and open to all Penn Staters.

Entrance to the pep rally will be at the intersection of Chick Hearn Court and Georgia Street. Fans can choose any of three nearby parking garages — West Garage (Gate B), Lot C, and West Hall — to self park and then make their way down Chick Hearn Court toward the STAPLES Center to participate in the pep rally.

The official hashtag for the event is #PSUPepRally. Check out the Alumni Association’s bowl website — alumni.psu.edu/bowl2017 — and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram sites leading up to Rose Bowl weekend for more information about the pep rally and other Penn State events.

Space is still available for the Penn State Pregame Event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 2 that includes a buffet-style lunch, beverages, and special appearances by the Penn State Pep Band, cheerleaders, and more. For details, visit primesport.com/pennstate or contact PrimeSport, Penn State’s official fan travel partner, at 866-373-7370.

The Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual, which will see Penn State take on No. 9 Southern California, is slated for 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT on Monday, Jan. 2, in Pasadena, California, and will be televised on ESPN. The game will also air on the Penn State Sports Network (3:30 p.m. ET) and ESPN Radio.
