MONACA, Pa. — This month’s Communications Advisory Board meeting won’t be all curriculum and committee reports.
Members will also be celebrating the success of Juliette Storr, a Penn State Beaver associate professor of communications who recently published a book with the University of Calgary Press.
The book, “Journalism in a Small Place: Making Caribbean News Relevant, Comprehensive and Independent,” explores the changes and challenges in journalism in the Caribbean in the 21st century.
Storr worked as a broadcast journalist and newspaper reporter in the Bahamas and has authored several papers on the state of journalism and democracy in the Caribbean. She is currently working on a documentary.
Storr will speak about her book at 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Room 16 of the Student Union Building. Books will be available for purchase.
