UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The University’s next Town Hall meeting, 3:30-5 p.m. Oct. 26, in the HUB-Robeson Center Freeman Auditorium on the University Park campus, will focus on diversity and inclusion — and supervisors are encouraged to allow employees with an interest in going to the meeting to attend in person or watch via livestream from campuses.

The meeting will be livestreamed and available for faculty and staff at all Penn State campuses to view: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BqF8jAVWEA.

Marcus Whitehurst, vice provost for Educational Equity, will join Provost and Executive Vice President Nicholas Jones and Senior Vice President for Finance and Business David Gray during the Town Hall, which will be the latest in a series of ongoing meetings focused on providing faculty and staff with updates from University administrators, as well as a chance to offer feedback and ask questions.

“It’s important for the University to have these opportunities for open communication among faculty, staff and administrators,” Gray said. “This Town Hall meeting provides a chance for face-to-face conversations, and we hope to see and hear from faculty and staff who have questions so we can learn about and address their concerns. I would encourage supervisors to allow staff members who wish to attend to come to the HUB for this 90-minute meeting.”

The Oct. 26 event will include information for faculty and staff on Penn State initiatives and time for questions. A special focus of the meeting is diversity and inclusion and coincides with the University’s “All In at Penn State: A Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion” initiative to create a welcome environment for all. Faculty and staff are invited to ask questions on these and other topics at the meeting, or by sending them in advance to questions@psu.edu or through Twitter using the hashtag #PSUstrong. The names of people submitting questions through email, via Twitter or at the meeting will not be shared.

The Town Hall is being sponsored by Penn State Today and the University Staff Advisory Council.
