Africana Research Center to sponsor Undergraduate Research Exhibition on Oct. 1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Undergraduate students will have a chance to showcase their research at the Africana Research Center’s Undergraduate Research Exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Nittany Lion Inn’s Faculty Staff Club Room. As part of the event, students will report on and discuss issues affecting the African diaspora.

The exhibition is an event for students who have written research papers on topics related to Africa and its diaspora. Invitation was by faculty nomination only; however, the poster presentations from 11 a.m. to noon are open to the public. Following the poster presentations will be a luncheon and keynote address by William J. (Bill) Dewey, interim co-director of the Africana Research Center, program head and graduate director of the African studies program, and associate professor of art history at Penn State. The luncheon is by invitation and closed to the public.
