Student Programming Association plans a day in DC

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.  – The Penn State University Student Programming Association (SPA) Edventures Committee has organized a trip for Penn State students to travel to the nation’s capital on Saturday, Sept. 24 for a day in Washington, D.C.

Students will be given the opportunity to visit five of the Smithsonian Institute’s museums, including: The Hirshorn Museum, National Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Art, National Museum of Natural History and National Museum of American History. Those who attend will also have ample free time to explore the area surrounding the museums which has many iconic landmarks such as the Washington Monument, The White House, and Lincoln Memorial.

Students interested in attending can purchase tickets, with valid Penn State ID, on Sept. 14 and 15. The $30 tickets will provide transportation to D.C. and entry to all museums is free.

The SPA’s Edventure Committee exists to increase educational programming for Penn State students and to allow for collaboration with additional student organizations. The committee has several events in the works for the upcoming year.
