The Penn Stater magazine seeks mail memories

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Do you recall special letters or packages sent to you as a student? The Penn Stater magazine wants to hear about them.

Maybe Mom mailed you care packages of homemade cookies for a sweet study break. Or perhaps a grandparent sent a little birthday gift every year. Did you get love letters from a long-distance boyfriend or girlfriend? Did a pen pal in another country write to you on fabulous foreign stationery?

If you looked forward to campus mail — and remember it long after you left Penn State — we want to hear about it. What were in those envelopes and boxes that were addressed for you — and why did you cherish them?

Stories (300 words or fewer) can be emailed to pennstater@psu.edu or mailed to The Penn Stater magazine, Hintz Family Alumni Center, University Park, PA 16802. Submissions should include an address and a daytime phone number. The best tales will be printed in an upcoming feature. Submissions are due by Oct. 10 and may be edited for length and clarity. For questions, contact Amy Downey at ajs379@psu.edu or 814-863-0406.
