Student Programming Association announces 2016 Nittany Block Party

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., – Dej Loaf is performing as part of New Student Orientation’s Welcome Week and the Student Programming Association’s (SPA) 2016 Nittany Block Party on Aug. 26. Activities start at 5:30 p.m. on Pollock Road outside of the HUB-Robeson Center on the University Park campus of Penn State.

Detroit rap maven DeJ Loaf was nominated for three BET Awards (including Best New Artist) and proclaimed the ‘future of hip hop’ by The Observer and other media outlets. Her alluring composure was first on display last summer with her breakout cautionary taunt, “Try Me,” (soaring to No. 1 at Urban Radio and snagging gold status). Her follow--up EP “AndSeeThatsTheThing” included (Gold Single) “Back Up” featuring Big Sean and fan favorite “Hey There” featuring Future.

A student showcase will precede Dej Loaf, as well as student DJ duo Argenzio x DeRóiste, carnival games, arts and crafts activities, interactive booths and displays, and free food from local vendors. Students are encouraged to attend the free event and performance by Dej Loaf.

The Student Programming Association (SPA) serves the Penn State student body by providing diverse activities, programming assistance and resources, which enhance a student’s overall co-‐curricular experience.
