UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — To accommodate the increased traffic on campus as students move in to campus residence halls before the start of the fall semester, the following parking adjustments will be in place Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Sunday, Aug. 21.
Student Parking Lots
All core student resident parking lots have been posted "No Overnight Parking" by University Police. These areas are being reserved for unloading only, and all vehicles must be removed from Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace), Lot 42 (Nittany Apartments) Lot 81 (South/Pollock Halls), and Lot 82 (East Halls) by 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17. Student permit holders for these areas must move their vehicles to one of the Commuter parking areas during the move-in period. Students with permits for Lot 82 may move back to their assigned area at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, while students with permits for Lot 22, Lot 42 and Lot 81 may move back to their assigned areas at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.
Lot Yellow J and Lot Yellow T
Yellow J (Atherton Hall) is reserved for unloading only from Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Sunday, Aug. 21. Yellow J permit holders are directed to park at the Eisenhower Parking Deck on these days.
Yellow T (Redifer and Pollock Commons) will be reserved for unloading only from Thursday, Aug. 18, through Sunday, Aug. 21.
Yellow T permit holders must park in the Eisenhower Parking Deck Aug. 18 - 21.
East Parking Deck and Lot Orange B
The first floor, as well as the west bay of levels 2 and 3, of the East Parking Deck will be reserved for the unloading of student and parent vehicles only from Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Saturday, Aug. 20. All vehicles, including faculty and staff, contractor, and department/Physical Plant vehicles must be parked on the upper levels and away from the affected areas.
Lot Orange B (Softball) will be reserved for unloading only from Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Saturday, Aug. 20. All vehicles, including faculty and staff, contractor and department/Physical Plant vehicles must be removed from Lot Orange B by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16. Permit holders who normally use Orange B are asked to park at Lot Orange A near Katz Building or one of the Commuter parking areas (Lot 44 or Stadium West).
Lot Green G and Lot Green J
All three sections of Lot Green G (including Park Avenue) will be reserved for the unloading of student/parent vehicles from Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Sunday, Aug. 21.
To allow maximum usable space, Green G permit holders are asked to park in Lot Orange A near Katz Building or in one of the Commuter parking areas (Lot 44 or Stadium West) Aug. 17 - 21.
Green J will be reserved for the unloading of student/parent vehicles from Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Sunday, Aug. 21.
Green J permit holders must park in the Eisenhower Parking Deck Aug. 17 - 21.
Lot Brown E and Lot Green C
Lots Brown E (Sparks Building) and Green C (Waring Commons) will be reserved for unloading only from Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Sunday, Aug. 21.
Brown E and Green C permit holders must park in the Nittany Parking Deck or Lot Red A from August 17 - 21.
HUB Parking Deck
From Wednesday, Aug. 17, through Sunday, Aug. 21, the first bay on the ground floor (transponder only entrance) will be reserved for unloading only. Vehicles entering to unload will enter and exit through the transponder entrance at the lower level.
Due to the heavy traffic expected at the HUB Deck, Yellow C permit holders are asked to use the Eisenhower Deck Aug. 17 - 21. Visitor parking will be very limited at the HUB Deck, so staff permit holders from other areas of campus who commonly visit the HUB or surrounding buildings during the day are asked to remain parked in assigned areas and use alternate transportation to get to the HUB.
After unloading, parents and students will be directed to move their vehicles to Lot 44 or Stadium West. The only exception will be those unloading at West Halls. They will also have the option of parking at the Nittany Deck or Lot Red A. The unloading voucher issued at the residence halls will be accepted to validate parking at these two locations. Beginning Friday afternoon, parents and students unloading in the South Halls, Pollock Halls, Eastview Terrace or Nittany Apartments areas will be also be directed to the Eisenhower Deck.
