Date set for ninth annual Conquese's Drive golf tournament

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The ninth annual Coquese's Drive for the Centre County Women's Resource Center will take place on Friday, Aug. 12, at Mountain View Country Club, announced Penn State women’s basketball head coach Coquese Washington today (May 19). The tournament is slated for a shotgun start at noon, with all proceeds from the event donated to the Centre County Women's Resource Center.

The golf tournament begins with an 11 a.m. registration, silent auction and lunch, followed by the noon shotgun start. After the round of golf, a closing dinner and prize winner announcements will take place.

This year, individual golfers can participate for $125 and a foursome is $500 with entries due in by August 5. Your entry fee includes lunch, greens fee, cart, dinner and tournament gift. Tee signs to support the event are also available to purchase for $150.

The 2015 event hosted nearly 100 golfers on the links of the Penn State Blue Course for the eighth annual Coquese's Drive for the Women's Resource Center. The event raised a $34,797 for the Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) to push the eight-year total over $135,000.

The CCWRC provides services for people who have experienced Domestic and or Sexual Violence. Counselor/Advocates are available 24 hours a day. There is no cost involved and all services are private. The CCWRC provided services for 1,300 people last year in Centre County.
