Penn State Greater Allegheny to hold spring commencement May 7

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Penn State Greater Allegheny’s spring 2016 commencement will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, in the Wunderley Gymnasium on campus. Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer Andrew Egan will preside as diplomas are conferred to students receiving baccalaureate and associate degrees. McKeesport Area School District Superintendent Rula Skezas will be the keynote speaker.

Skezas has been superintendent of McKeesport Area School District since 2013. Her professional teaching career started in Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland and continued in the South Park School District prior to coming “home” to McKeesport.

Skezas is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, Phi Delta Kappa International, Pennsylvania School Board Association, American Association of School Personnel Administrators, and Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. She has presented at the Governor’s School Institute of Math at Pennsylvania State and the Title I School Wide Conference in Philadelphia,

She received her bachelor of science in education; master of science in education, elementary administration; superintendent’s letter of eligibility; and doctor of education from Duquesne University.
