Commission for Women seeks applications for membership

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Commission for Women (CFW) at Penn State has reopened its membership process and will accept applications from April 21-29. Applications are for affiliate membership for the 2016-17 academic year, with terms beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30, 2017.

Students (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, staff and administrators from all Penn State campuses are eligible to serve. The commission values the breadth of background and experience that can be found among the members of the University community and is actively seeking a broad base of applicants.

Individuals interested in working to enhance diversity and support the mission of the Commission for Women are encouraged to apply. Staff members may wish to speak with their supervisors about this University service opportunity prior to submitting an application.

The Commission for Women serves as an advisory group to the president of the University on the status of women at Penn State, advocates for women's concerns, and recommends solutions.
