UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – On April 21, James Lyon, professor of music and acclaimed violinist, along with several of his students, will present “Inside the Maestro’s studio: Instructing and Performing Master Works of Violin.”

This will be the final event in the spring Research Unplugged lineup and will take place at 12:30 p.m. in Schlow Centre Region Library in downtown State College.

Attendees will get a rare look inside the close and dynamic relationship between a master teacher and violin performance students. The audience will listen in as Lyon shows how he hones his students’ technique, and then will be treated to a performance of selected works.

Research Unplugged is in its 12th year of bringing together a broad range of Penn State researchers and the State College community for informal conversation.

All Research Unplugged events are held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public, with complimentary light refreshments.
