Schreyer Institute workshop to explore creation of accessible materials

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence at Penn State will present a free workshop titled “Design With An Accessible Mind: Easy Guidelines to Create Accessible Materials” from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, via Adobe Connect.

This session, presented by Timothy Lengel and Elizabeth Lease, instructional designers at Penn State Harrisburg, will explore accessibility resources available through Penn State and demonstrate the application of Penn State’s accessibility guidelines in relation to course materials made available online.The workshop will define the audience in need of accommodation; explore Penn State’s accessibility resources; identify common accessibility blockers in documents and how to remediate them; and review common blockers and apply to content created in Canvas.
