All-Sports Museum to host Battle of the Student Sections April 6

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State All-Sports Museum will be hosting an event called Battle of the Student Sections from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6. Visitors will be participating in competitive activities such as Cards Against Humanity, basketball, mini golf, tailgate toss, and an All-Sports Museum scavenger hunt.

Not only will participants earn raffle tickets to win prizes, they will also compete for their favorite student section. The student section with the most points earned will walk away with a trophy and bragging rights.

Come enjoy free food, fun competitions, and relax with friends while supporting your favorite Penn State student section. This event is free and open to the community; no affiliation with a specific student section is required to participate.

The event is being planned and implemented by students in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management 356 in collaboration with the Penn State All-Sports Museum. Each semester, RPTM 356 students collaborate with 10 local nonprofit organizations, campus organizations and state parks to plan, promote, implement and evaluate special events. Generally free and available for to the public to enjoy, students acquire practical event planning experience, while agencies benefit from a special event. The class instructor is Kathleen Raupach, who can be reached at kjr103@psu.edu.

The museum is located on the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium. A long canopy leading from Curtin Road marks the museum entrance. Parking is free in Lot 44 after 5 p.m. For more information, contact asmevents@psu.edu.

The mission of the Penn State All-Sports Museum is to honor the achievements of the men and women who have built the proud tradition of Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics through the preservation and promotion of their legacy for the education and benefit of the community.
