Zebrafish Functional Genomics Core opens April 13 at Hershey

HERSHEY, Pa. — The Zebrafish Functional Genomics Core will hold its grand opening event from 1:30 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at the Junker Auditorium on the campus of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

This core, which was financed by the National Institutes of Health and the college, was created to provide the research community with a state-of-the-art, centralized facility for research with zebrafish, one of the fastest growing model systems for biomedical research.

David Grunwald, professor of human genetics at the University of Utah, a zebrafish developmental biologist and expert in genome editing, will be the keynote speaker for the event. The event will also feature other short talks and a guided tour of the new facility.
