Penn State Lehigh Valley Chancellor elected to chamber council

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley Chancellor Tina Q. Richardson was recently elected to serve on the board of the African American Business Leaders Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.  The Council’s mission is to establish an economic presence and enhance the intellectual capital of the African-American community through education, support, cultural awareness and advocacy within the Lehigh Valley.

Richardson, a 24-year resident of the Lehigh Valley, joined the Penn State family in July. Previously, she was a faculty member at Lehigh University for 20 years where she served as director of the counseling psychology program and a special assistant to the provost for a National Science Foundation-funded leadership initiative for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Richardson most recently was an associate dean at Drexel University, where she provided leadership on academic program development and evaluation, faculty professional development, and the promotion and tenure process. Richardson earned her bachelor’s in psychology and master’s and doctorate in counseling psychology, all from the University of Maryland.
