Powerful Women Paving the Way to celebrate women in business

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There’s still time to register for the 2016 Powerful Women Paving the Way conference, which is hosted by the Penn State Smeal College of Business and its student-run Women in Business organization. The conference provides alumni, staff and faculty an opportunity to join fellow professionals, students and high-profile keynote speakers in a celebration of women in business. Registration is open for the April 14-15 event at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center on Penn State’s University Park campus. Registration details can be found online. Powerful Women Paving the Way begins Thursday evening with a networking reception, which gives students, alumni and professionals a chance to connect prior to the start of the conference. Cathy Clegg, vice president of General Motors North America manufacturing and labor relations, will serve as the keynote speaker for Thursday night’s dinner. Friday morning’s keynote speaker will be Megan Alexander, national news correspondent, host, emcee and actress. Breakout sessions on April 15 will address a range of topics, from storytelling in business to goal setting to the risks and rewards of online communication. Cheryl Johnson, executive vice president of human resources for Textron Inc., will deliver the luncheon keynote address. Companies sponsoring the 2016 Powerful Women Paving the Way conference include Altria, EY, Kohl’s, Aldi, Bloomberg, Dick’s Sporting Goods, PNC, PwC, Target, Foot Locker and MetLife.
