ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s beautiful spring colors won’t only be visible outside this year.

The campus' annual Spring Student Art Show opens Wednesday, March 23, in the Lilley Library gallery. The opening reception for the show will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.

“We’ve seen a high level of interest from students wanting to share their work, almost more than we can handle. We’re delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to students again," said Heather Cole, a lecturer in digital arts who organized the show.

The show will feature works from students from all four of Behrend's academic schools, as well as alumni submissions. During the reception, one student will be recognized with the Chancellor’s Choice Award, and four students will receive a Director’s Choice Award. An additional student will be recognized with the Greener Behrend Eco-Friendly Award.

The Spectacles, a student women’s vocal ensemble, will perform during the reception. The show, supported by the Mary Behrend Cultural Fund and co-sponsored by the arts administration degree program at Behrend, will remain on display through the beginning of May.

Both the reception and show are free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Reed Union Building lot or any visitor parking lots, and visitor parking permits can be obtained from the Police Services office in Erie Hall.
