Penn State Board of Trustees reappoints directors of Penn State Health

HERSHEY, Pa. — The Penn State Board of Trustees today reappointed all eight members of the board of directors of Penn State Health to a renewal term of one year, set to begin March 15.

The Board of Trustees appointed Penn State Health’s initial board of directors to a one-year term at its March 2015 meeting.

A nonprofit corporation, Penn State Health was organized for the purpose of acquiring the St. Joseph Regional Health Network in Reading, which was completed in July 2015; entering into a proposed transaction with Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth System, which is currently the subject of litigation with the Federal Trade Commission; and providing oversight and governance of an expanded health care enterprise to include Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

The Penn State Health board members reappointed today are:

Dennis P. Brenckle, retired president of PNC Bank’s central Pennsylvania region

Peter M. Carlino, chairman of Penn National Gaming Inc.

Kathleen L. Casey, senior adviser with Patomak Global Partners, LLC and member of the Penn State Board of Trustees

Mark H. Dambly, president of Pennrose Properties, LLC and member of the Penn State Board of Trustees

Rodney A. Erickson, Penn State president emeritus

David J. Gray, Penn State senior vice president for Finance and Business

Dr. A. Craig Hillemeier, dean of the Penn State College of Medicine, CEO of Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Health System, and senior vice president for health affairs for Penn State

Keith E. Masser, chairman and chief executive officer of Sterman Masser Inc. and member of the Penn State Board of Trustees

Penn State Health’s eight current board members also serve on the board of directors of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Scheduled to be governed by a 16-member board of directors, an additional eight members will be added to the Penn State Health board from the board of directors of PinnacleHealth System, should the partnership with PinnacleHealth move forward.
